Background information
In this model of a ray's brain shows clearly the signs of the effect of shrinking and expanding through time. The frontal lobe on the right side of the brain model does not fit anymore. The pin hole connection did not prevent the papier-mâché from curling up. Models which have hooks as joints, do not show these damages. one advantage of the pin hole connection is the aesthetic effect. Hooks are always visible as something artificial on the outside. And because they are always on the outside, they are always in sight. Pin whole constructions are tucked away from the spectator's eyes.
